Dear Fellow Texans:

Enclosed is the Sheriffs' and Constables' 2008 Fees listing. Pursuant to Local Government Code §118.131 the Comptroller's office compiled the list of fees effective January 1, 2007, as reported by county officials.

The 1995 Texas Legislature enacted Senate Bill 770, which amended Local Government Code §118.131(f) to require each county commissioners court to provide written notice to the Texas Comptroller's office of any changes in the fees set for services performed by the sheriffs' and constables' offices. These fees do not apply to criminal cases.

We appreciate the cooperation of county officials throughout the state and their continued commitment to public service.
