Texas led the nation in job creation in the 12 months ending in November 2007. The bulk of those jobs, more than 3 million, were found in the Dallas-Fort Worth-Arlington area.
The number of sales tax permits issued each month can indicate new business and economic growth. Permits issued in the state in 2007 were up 10.6 percent over 2005.
