Texas Population Booms
More people moved to Texas than any other state in 2007-08, according to the U.S. Census Bureau. Between July 2007 and July 2008, nearly 141,000 people moved to Texas from other states, while about 92,000 international migrants moved here.

Bed Cost Drops
The average cost for an overnight stay in a Texas hotel is 9 percent lower than last year, according to the Hotel Price Index compiled by Hotels.com. The average price per room per night was $109 across Texas from January through June 2009, down from $121 for the same period in 2008.
